FAQS
What is PMU
PMU is short for permanent makeup. PMU is a form of tattooing to cosmetically enhance facial features such as brows, eyes and lips to name a few. Even though cosmetic tattooing is done more shallowly in the skin and with lighter shading techniques it should still be considered a tattoo with the understanding that it is permanent. Some artists use the word semi-permanent but this is because the nature of cosmetic tattooing does require touch-ups to keep it looking its best.

Does it hurt?
We keep you comfortable throughout the procedure with numbing creams. Most clients rank the first pass a 0 – 2 out of 10 for pain and most clients report no pain with secondary numbing gel. Remember, it’s a tattoo so it may not be 100% painless but speak up if it hurts so we can try to get you comfortable.
How does the payment schedule work?
A $100 deposit is required to book your appointment. At the first session you will pay the balance due on whichever procedure you choose less $100 which you will pay at the second session. So it is broken up into three payments.
Do you take credit cards?
Yes, we take all major credit cards or cash. No checks will be accepted.
How long does it take?
We ask that when you come for your first appointment that you allow 2.5 – 3 hours for most procedures. Sometimes we finish much faster but we have to map and customize your design and this takes time. Your second session is typically much faster.
Is this a tattoo?
Yes, all techniques are a form of tattooing. This is NOT semi-permanent although, does require some maintenance annually to keep color looking top notch. Although this may be permanent, it does require maintenance to keep it optimal.
How long will my permanent makeup last?
The longevity of permanent makeup varies widely according to each person’s lifestyle, health and skin type. Most treatments will last 1-4 years but most individuals require at least a 12-18 month touch-up to improve the lifespan and look of their brows, lips or eyeliner. Note that lighter colors and microblading can often require more frequent touch-ups.
Can I bring someone with me?
Unfortunately we do not allow guests in the treatment room due to the sanitation required for permanent makeup.
Do I need to shave my brows?
No, we will shape your brows once we design your shape and work over existing hair.
Can you correct old work and color?
Sometimes we can rework other artists’ work, shape and colors. However, there are occasions that we will recommend a tattoo lightening service first or send you out for laser removal.
